Steve & Andi Rosenstein, the dynamic 1-2 punch behind the duce have always had a passion for things loved over time! Both Windy City natives, this couple is truly a product of the place & time they grew up….Chicago in the 1960’s & 70’s. Andi grew up in the joints where her dad’s band “Bill Skully & The Dynatones” would perform into the wee hours of the night. And as fate would have it, one of those places was among Chicago’s most iconic nightclubs…The Black Orchid located on Rush Street. Americana legends like Harry Belafonte, Johnny Mathis, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole & Ray Charles would croon there.

In 2007, Steve & Andi reclaimed The Black Orchid’s original bar and it is now the centerpiece of The Black Orchid Room at the duce where local & national artists perform live for audiences of 50 to 2000.

Once a prohibition era warehouse anchoring a bustling produce district by day, when the sun set the notorious neighborhood, known as the deuce. transformed into dice, vice, speakeasies, & other not-so-good-clean fun!
